The owners of this Beverly Hills residence had an affinity for the Northeast island vernacular, and requested a garden that made them feel as though they were in Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard or Cape Cod.  To cleanly offset the coolness of the hardscape, a plant palette was chosen in shades of white and green, with occasional hits of clear colors, such as bright pink and yellow.  There is no lawn in this design and, with proper drip irrigation and mulching, all of the plants utilized in the design are drought tolerant, while maintaing the green, lush look of Nantucket.  A work in progress, this is a project in collaboration with the artisan-builder Donlon Ward.
